Richard III Events Announced!

Great news Leicester – there is a series of events regarding Richard III happening in the city that you can all take part in. They start this weekend so make sure you come along and join in. There has never been an historical find like this in Leicester’s history and You’ll definitely want to be a part of it!

The Greyfriars site: Open to the public with information leaflets and guards in armour. Entry is free.

Saturday, September 15, and Sunday, September 16 - 11am to 4pm
Wednesday, September 19 - 5pm to 7pm
Saturday, September 22, and Sunday, September 23 - 11am to 4pm

The Guildhall: Objects from the excavation, plus information panels on Richard III and the excavation. Free admission.

Saturday, September 15, and Sunday, September 16 - 11am to 4pm
Saturday, September 22, and Sunday, September 23 - 11am to 4pm

Guided tours around key King Richard III site in the city, including The Magazine Gateway, Guildhall and Castle Park.

Saturday, September 15, and Sunday, September 16 - 11am to 4pm
Wednesday, September 19 - 5pm to 7pm
Saturday, September 22, and Sunday, September 23 - 11am to 4pm

Highcross Shopping Centre: Panels explaining the search for King Richard III the other events taking place across the city.

Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm, Sundays from 11am to 5pm
After these open events, the site will close to the public.

A series of Blue Badge walks are also due to take place. Three tours will take place this Saturday and Sunday, and next weekend, starting off at 11am, 1pm and 3pm from Leicester Cathedral. A tour will also take place on Wednesday, September 19 at 4.30pm. Pre-booking is advised, with further information available from the new Visit Leicester centre in Gallowtree Gate.
